Solar Power Wind Power

What is solar power ?

Photovoltaic (PV) power systems are reliable cost-effective means of generating electricity by converting sunlight energy.
A solar power system consists of four basic components:
  1. The solar modules (photovoltaic cells)
  2. The charger / regulator unit
  3. The storage batteries
  4. The inverter unit, (which can be eliminated if the loads are all DC current operated)

Note that two types of inverters are available: the off grid type for the stand alone remote sites and the on grid type for the system that will make benefit of the public mains.
In sunny arias, the sun light power can be converted into useful electric energy to supply many important loads such as:
1- Lighting devices which can be dc current operated
  2- Water bumps.
  3- Communication devices
  4- Control instruments
5- Main home appliances such as: TV, VCR, Radio, and even a refrigerator.

This is a very practical and economical solution in remote sites where it is difficult or not possible to fined fissile fuel.
Always keep in mind that the fissile fuel will not last forever, in addition its prices will keep going higher and higher; so let us extend its life period to the extreme limit with less pollution and gradually become less dependant on it as solar power systems amongst other renewable energy resources can provide a suitable alternative

Areas of applications

  • Telecommunications

  • Water / oil pumping

  • Irrigation

  • Street and billboard lighting

  • Medical refrigeration

  • Village power

  • Navigation

  • Home systems

          ... to mention a few.

Solar power features

  • High credibility (as long as the sun will rise every day).
  • Maintenance free (High MTBF, unlike traditional generator sets, etc.).
  • Round-the clock operation (when storage batteries are employed or on grid inverter is involved).
  • Simple operation (simple electronics and mechanics).
  • Environmentally friendly (less pollution as there is no exhausting gases, etc).
  • Economic.
